OUR ETHOS

After years of designing for fast fashion companies in London and New York, I have seen firsthand what unsustainable fashion looks like, and I wanted out! Inspired to create a change in the fashion industry, I knew that I wanted to build a brand I was proud of-one that matched my personal morals and wasn't creating waste. This meant creating high-quality, timeless garments that were built to last for years not months. By producing in small batches and never mass quantities, we increase quality and eliminate waste.

We are proud to have partnered with Italian brand Aquafil, the creators of ECONYL® yarn, as we were adamant about finding fabric that was actually helping clean up our oceans and landfills. All of our garments are packed and shipped in biodegradable bags. We only work with partners who focus on sustainability, ethical practices, and fair wages.

We are committed to being fully transparent with EYO's community.

OUR FABRICS

BY 2050 THERE WILL BE MORE PLASTIC IN OUR OCEANS THAN FISH...

...That does not sit right with us! Millions of animals like dolphins, whales, sea turtles and sharks are harmed and killed every year from discarded fishing nets and ocean plastic pollution.
This discarded waste catches fish and marine organisms that then die and in turn attract more marine life, which then get caught, creating a vicious cycle.

About 10% of the estimated 14 billion pounds of trash discarded in the ocean annually is made up of abandoned, lost, or discarded fishing gear and as nylon is virtually indestructible a single net could entangle marine life for up to an estimated 5,000 years.

EYO  X  ECONYL®

EYO has partnered with Aquafil the creators of ECONYL® regenerated nylon.

All and of our fabrics are made using ECONYL®.

ECONYL® is 100% regenerated nylon fibre made from discarded fishing nets and other nylon waste that would be pollute our Earth. It performs exactly the same as brand new nylon and it can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again. That means you can create new products and buy new products without ever having to use new resources.

For every 10,000 tons of ECONYL® raw material, 70,000 barrels of crude oil are saved and 65,100 kg of CO@ eq. emissions are avoided

ECONYL® reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% compared with the material from oil.

THE PROCESS:

01 Rescue

The ECONYL® Regeneration System starts with rescuing waste, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic from all over the world. That waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.

02 Regenerate

Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. That means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as virgin nylon.

03 Remake

ECONYL® regenerated nylon is processed into carpet yarn and textile yarn for the fashion and interior industries.

04 Reimagine

The beauty of ECONYL® regenerated nylon is that it has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality. We believe circular design is the future and using ECONYL® is our first step on that journey.

SINCE OUR LAUNCH IN 2021

A total of 113.7 kilograms of waste have been used which otherwise would have endend up in our oceans and landfills.

We are working towards a circular production system and along with our partnership with ECONYL® the ultimate goal is to be able to recycle your old EYO garments and regenerate them into brand new designs. The technology is currently in development, sign up to our newsletter and we will let you know as soon as this is available.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Washing synthetic materials releases microfibers into our oceans to prevent this we suggest washing your activewear (and all synthetic clothing) in a mircofiber bag like Guppyfriend.
The Guppyfriend washing bag stops these fibres from entering our rivers and oceans and prevents your clothes from losing them, so they last longer too.

Wash all EYO activewear at 30 degrees, dry indoors or in shade and never tumble dry.
